There is a lot of information below. It is worth the time to read. This will let you know how issues (refunds, defects, warranties etc) are handled.

Privacy Notice

This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for (www.cheapbatterypacks.com). This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this web site. It will notify you of the following:

  1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the web site, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.
  2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.
  3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information. 
  4. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Your Access to and Control Over Information You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our web site:

  1. See what data we have about you, if any.
  2. Change/correct any data we have about you.
  3. Have us delete any data we have about you.
  4. Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Security We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the web site, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page. While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.


 Insurance: you are given the option if you want to insure your order or not.  Insurance will cover you in the event your order is lost or damaged during shipment.  The cost of this insurance is 5% of your total order.  You can choose not to get insurance.  If you choose NOT TO get insurance CheapBatteryPacks.com is not liable for lost or damaged goods.  Insurance is calculated using your order total including shipping multiplied by 5%.  So $95.00 + $5.00shipping = $100.00 order x 5% = $5 insurance charge.

We offer some of the lowest pricing around.  We did not want to raise our prices to make up for lost/damaged goods.  It is up to you if you want to be covered or not.

On International order we may require you to use UPS for large dollar orders. It is more difficult to insure international orders. If you have questions email me.

Insurance will not pay out if your item shows "DELIVERED" from its assigned tracking #. If an item is stolen from your door step or mailbox it is not COVERED by our insurance. Our insurance only covers items "NOT" delivered to your destination or if items were damaged in transit. If your item does show delivered but you did not receive it please contact your local Post office or UPS office. Give them the tracking # and explain the circumstances. Most of the time they will have it at the post office because they were unable to deliver it to you. Also, sometimes items will show delivered but in fact were returned to sender for some other reason. In those cases it usually takes about 7 days for us to get those back. Once back we will contact you.


Domestic Shipping:

We Ship all packages by USPS. Best rates and quickest transit times.

You can now choose from a couple of shipping options on the web site. For light orders 1st class mail is now an option when you check out. Express mail is now also offered and quoted on the checkout screen. Please note that just because you select an expedited mail service does not mean your order gets moved to the top of the order queue. Your order will still process the same way as any other order. The only gain you get from getting Express mail is that transit times will be shorter. I would be careful selecting Express mail option on Fridays or Holiday thinking you will get them the next day. This is not the case.

Insurance is still an option -- Read above about insurance if you skipped it -- to reiterate - we can not help you if you do not select insurance and your package gets lost. There is no getting around this. If you don't buy insurance please don't complain to us that we should cover it anyway. This is not fair to other customers that do pay for insurance. If this makes you unhappy then please DON'T order from us.


 Foreign Shipping

Before you start reading the below I can not stress enough that EMS is really the way to go for large orders. It is more costly but has tracking and so far 100% success rate. The other lower cost method (Priority Mail International) has no tracking and can take 10-14+ days. So cheap + high risk, or More costly + faster + low risk. Order more to get better rate. Most rates from USPS can be done flat rate. There are some great options. If you need 9 large batteries we can generally get the cost down to 3.00 per battery. Where as one might cost 15.00. Experiment with the shipping rates.

We ship 2 ways - USPS Priority Mail Global or Express Mail.

If your country supports both methods you will be quoted for both and can select either.

Countries that do not support either method will not show up under the Country box. You can contact us and we can see if there is some other way to send your package.

If you want to track your package then EMS is your best bet.
NO TRACKING on Global Priority International packages. USPS does not use the #'s on the packages. As a result we can only insure EMS packages.

Delivery times: For Global Priority it will be between 4-7 days (North/South America), 7-21 days elsewhere.  We will not declare a package lost until after 6 weeks of no show. Most packages arrive in 3-10 days.

Delivery times: EMS - 3-7 days. This service is nice because of tracking and quick consistent delivery times. Although, just like any mail, delays can happen.

Please understand that we do not control international mail and delays can happen for many reasons.  Customs is one big reason. 


Order Processing

We do our best to get your item out as quickly as possible,  but sometimes issues will arise that prevent that from happening. We hope for your understanding in those unlikely events.

We are able to get orders out with in 48 hours 95% of the time (This means 2 days after the day you order).  Allow more time during holidays and weekends.  If you order on a Friday your order will not go out until the following Tuesday/Weds under normal conditions.

We make no guarantees that items ordered on a certain day will be at your doorstep "X" days later.  If you need that guarantee you must email us directly so we can find an alternate mailing solution,  i.e. if you need overnight service.

We are not open on weekends and major holidays.

Inventory

Because we are always investing in new technology inventory can change from month to month. Popular items are stocked in greater #'s. The website shows if something is in or out of stock. If you need a lot of something email us to find out if we have it or can get it.


Product Guarantee and Warranty

We pride ourselves in offering great products at a low price.  We offer a 30 day performance guarantee on all of our Battery Packs.  If it fails due to defect we will replace or refund.  All returned packs are subject to our review before refund is issued.  If a pack appears to have been used outside the scope of its intended use or damaged in any way then refund will be refused.

We can not warranty loose cells that have been built into a pack by the customer.  Once cells have been altered via solder or weld we can not assume responsibility for your manufactured pack.  There are too many variables that can cause cells to go bad.  If you are unsure of your soldering skill please allow us to build your pack so you can be protected under our 30 day warranty.

Be advised that this includes loose Lipoly Cells too.  We do not warranty loose cells built into a pack by the customer.

Shipping is not an expense that is covered for warranty or returns. All shipping expenses are the responsibility of the customer no matter the reason.

ALL NEW PACKS SHOULD be checked before use.  That means check polarity and voltage before hooking up to your charger or speed controller.  We do our best to insure all batteries leave correctly but there is that very rare case.  Please check all your batteries from any source before using.


Refunds/Returns

it is best to contact us first to make sure you qualify for an RMA return. The RMA form is online and can be found at the top navigation bar just under our main logo.

Shipping from customer to CBP is at customers expense. Shipping from CBP back to customer for repair/replacement may be at CBP's expense unless the problem was not warranty relateded. (I know many think round trip shipping should be picked up by the selling party. But consider this. When you go to your local store and drive 2 hours round trip and get home to find something broken. When you go back to the store do you ask them to replace the gas used? No. Shipping is simply a method to get items to and from and are the expense of doing internet business for all involved. Please keep this in mind. This is in part how we keep our prices low. If this sounds unfair to you then it is best you not shop here. We don't expect there to be problems but if they arise you know where we stand.)

Customer will contact us before shipping any product back to get authorization. Returns sent to us with no explanation or prior authorization may not receive a refund or be sent back. It is very important that you contact us via email with your problem first. At the very least include a detailed explanation of the problem in with your return. If you email me and I respond simply include a print out of that email with your return. Again, failure to include this information may result in lost product and no refund.

Unless otherwise stated customer is entitled to a refund with in 30 days from ship date if the pack fails to perform properly.  After 30 days we are not responsible for defective or broken merchandise for any reason. And yes - just because you did not use an item for 30 days does not mean the warranty starts when you use it. The warranty period starts 3 days after the ship date of your item. On international orders we allow a little more time since shipping takes so much longer.

There is a 30% restock fee on all packs, that we can accept, bought from us that are returned for the sole reason of customer error (meaning did not fit or similar).. All of our packs are custom made when you order. We do not stock premade packs and only build them when ordered. So returning a pack requires us to sit on them until they sell. If you are not sure that pack is what you need or if it will fit DO NOT BUY IT. Instead, contact us first. ALSO NOTE: that not all packs can be returned. If that pack is very unusual and not easily resold we will NOT accept it back. Only common packs can be accetped back. If this is unacceptable to you please don't purchase instead contact us so we can assure we get you what you need. The custom pack tool can be used by anyone but when you use the tool it is in your hands. We make no guarantee to fit as we have no idea what it will be used in.

On all other items (shrink, plugs, bars, unused loose cells etc) there is a 15% restock fee. It takes a lot of time to ship items and get them out to you. Having to restock them is a pain. Labor costs money no matter if we are shipping it to you or putting it back into bins. We don't have large hobby store prices because we expect customers to be responsible and pay for mistakes. If you don't know something ask before you buy.


Custom Pack Returns

Some custom packs can not be returned at all. This usually happens when a customer insists on a product that we warned will not work. If it does not work after being warned we will not take it back. It's yours. Thank goodness for eBay.
Otherwise ----
If you return a pack that you had us custom build please be aware that there is a 30% restock fee.  Please understand that once cells are welded and glued for you, it makes it very difficult for us to resell them.  So please be sure that you know what you are ordering when you order CUSTOM PACKS.  If this does happen you should consider selling your pack on ebay and you will most likely recoup all your money.  Be advised that defective custom packs are covered under the same 30 day warranty as any of our packs.  In that case, your pack will be replaced or money refunded.


Liability

CheapBatteryPacks.com is not responsible for any losses or injury that occur from the use of our products.  Customer assumes all risks when using our rechargeable Batteries.  Customer should supervise the use, discharge and recharge of their battery cells.  Cells that have been recently used, crashed, charged, should not be left near flammable objects and should be handled in a safe manner.  Before any battery pack is installed it is advised that the customer checks the battery over .  Confirm polarity and voltage of the pack before each use (especially on new packs).  All packs should be charged before use.  This will also help determine if there is any battery problems.

All batteries must be charged with an appropriate peak charger for NIMH and NICAD chemistries.  You must use a charger specifically designed for lipoly charging.  Failure to do so can result in fire, damage and even injury.

Charging using any other method will void all warranty.

Hobby battery use can be dangerous -- please make yourself aware of the dangers. If you are unsure ask someone to help before you continue. There is a lot of power in these little batteries. You must keep yourself protected by being educated on your hobby. As they say -- "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure"
