It is rated at 15c and has a very low price. Currently we offer only a 2100 3s and 1300 3s pack. They come with TP style taps. The 2100-3s is priced at 39.95 and the 1300-3s is priced at 32.95. Many of you asked about the Apex and we are happy to announce these are the exact same cells just a new name. ============================= Shipping Rate calculator – ----------------------------- This new tool shows up on the shopping cart screen. International or Domestic customers can click it to see what the current shopping cart items will cost to ship if you were to check out. This allows you to easily get shipping quotes for Priority Mail, Express mail, Priority Mail international, and EMS International. So no more guess work. We can only ship to countries that offer these mail services. ============================= Web check out and shipping – ----------------------------- As some of you may or may not know USPS rates changed May 14th. We had to change our rates. In doing so we added some options. For USA orders you can select from priority or express mail. If you shipping weight is 4oz or less you will also be able to pick from a lower cost 1st class mail option. For international, rates also increased but also simplified. Now there is a 20lb flat rate box. This means that large orders now become very cost effective. Normal global priority is still offered but 15.00 is now the starting price. It is best to order 3-5 items at a time to make shipping the most cost effect. International customers now have the option of EMS. It is quoted on the check out screen. ============================= New stock is here – ----------------------------- The entire NIMH Elite product is currently available. Which include (Elite 4500SC, Elite 3600 SC, Elite 2000 4/5A, Elite 1500 2/3A. More Elite products will be coming soon) Most all lipos are stocked and many discontinued items have been removed from the website to clean up the number of items shown . KAN 2/3AA 700mah, KAN 1/3AAA 160mah, KAN 2/3AAA 400mah and KAN AAA 700mah are available. ============================= Some items dropped – ----------------------------- And yes - We currently no longer offer IB products. Due to a high failure rate of new cells we had to stop selling them. We will continue to test new batches and if quality comes back we will offer them again. But to be honest the Elite product is so strong that we are not sure it is worth bringing them back. Many Hyperion lipos have been dropped. Mainly because the Poly RC products are made from the same cells and it does not make sense to offer the same product under two different labels any longer. Some of the Polyquest cells are gone and will not return. But new higher C rate Polyquest cells are coming soon. CBP1650AA is gone, CBP2500A is gone, GP1100 has been gone for a while, CBP750 has been replaced by KAN700 2/3A. We will be offering a great new high rate AA cell soon to replace the 1650. Once you know the voltage you need it’s all a matter of sizing. The best fit tool will take a measurement and look through all the lipos we stock and report back to you which ones would fit in your space. You can narrow the search by brand name, voltage and amperage. We know there are many new high end ESC's that needs such a plug. So as usual we are one of the first to offer it. Custom packs - some of you have noticed our new custom pack builder. The tool is much nicer and offers less scrolling. If you are having viewing problems using the new updated tool please see our FAQ page regarding the remedy. Some of you have accessibility options turned on that will affect the way some screens display. They are easy to switch off and on again for those that need them. But larger fonts cause strange things to happen. We have invested in a lot more product store for the 2008 season. We realize that our #1 problem is having enough stock for everyone. But please understand that part of keeping our cost down and quality up is by ordering direct from factories. Because of this we have to boat items in. With importation unforeseen delays can occur. The benefit is 2 fold. One we get lower pricing, two we get to have product made just for us in the way you want it. Anyone can order product from overseas and get crappy cheapo product. Remember that our name says cheap but that only refers to what you pay and never the quality. Final reminder - Many of you know that another way we keep things lower priced is through automation. That means order processing and customer service. We do our best with phones but to hire someone just to handle the phones is expensive, especially finding someone with the proper skills. We find that email is really a better choice. #1 you get to think about what you want to say and can include pictures. #2 we get to think of a proper response and use the resources of the internet to find answers. #3 as a result you get great answers and help. After all speaking to someone on the phone that can't help you is just you wasting your time and we know that many businesses simply hire someone at a low wage just to be a human answering machine that will simply tell you to email me anyway. We have noticed in the past months that many of the new SC's offered suffer from high failure rates. Much of these failures occur to the vendor and not to the end customer. What happened are the cells self discharge on the shelves before they are ever sent out. These dead cells are never used in packs or sold as loose product. We noticed this problem with IB and even some of our products. We talked to our factory and they told us that ultra high performance cells have a very high rate of failures for some reason. No technical reason was given other then all Ultra High SC's are affected from many factories. Since the discovery of this problem we started to add a new category to how we find new product. We now consider cell stability. If a cell has great #'s but wont last we don't think the performance out weighs the short life. Except for some serious racers that don't mind getting new packs every race or two. All the new Elite cells from 3600 - 4700mah are now made from a more stable formula. The new formula means cells will not self discharge as fast and have a longer than normal cycle life. The sacrifice is they are a tad less in voltage over the more aggressive super ultra cells. We have tested the cells both on the bench and with customer feedback. The results are cells that work for 99.9% of everyone with out noticing any difference in power. Companies that continue to deal in ultra high performance cells now have to do more matching and testing than ever before. This will cause prices to rise. Companies claiming to sell ultra cells at a low price are probably not matching or doing any pre-testing. So be careful what you buy out there. We also feel that it is time to start looking at lipos as a real option when performance is your thing. Lipos can now way out perform NIMH/Nicad SC cells at every level and prices have come way down. The new elite line has some cells that are perfect for RC car/truck/boat/heli guys. The Elite 4800 25C and soon to be available Elite 5700 30C cells are perfect examples of cells that will trounce current high end SC packs. So if your club allows lipos and you want the fastest vehicle now is a good time to go lipo. Elite 30C lipos - Wow - -these packs and cells are amazing. I am sure these are the best cells I have ever tested. The voltage under load is incredible. Even at 40-60C the cells voltage hold. Cell get hot at those rates. Great for racing at the extreme edge. We have our Boat guy (Brian Buaas) Running them in April and I am sure he will win some events with them. Look under the lipo section the Elite 30C. Elite 15c 2000mah -- Yes low C but narrow. These are perfect for RC18T and similar 18th scale cars. Any car that takes a 6 cell flat pack of 2/3A cells can use a 2s of these. These will be here next week and prices will be low. 4/52200 Elite SC - Since GP has dicontinued the GP2200SCHR we have turned to Elite. As usual they had what we need in the Elite 2200 4/5SC. Great little cell. So if you need a short SC these should work great. We expect them mid to Late April 2008. Elite 1200 and 1450 2/3A cells -- Some simple low cost simple green sleeve 2/3A cells. We know manny of you wanted a lower cost 2/3A cell for basic 10-15amp applications and these are just that. Low cost and still made by a reputable name (ELITE). New Elite 5i Charger
Finally, an easy to use everything charger for under $100.00. This is great for anyone charging basic lipo packs up to 5000mah. The charger has a built in balancer (2s-5s). The charger uses the Align style receptacle for the balancer which is built into the side of the charger (no board to lose). Don't worry if you have TP or PQ taps on your existing packs because we now carry a full range of adapters to convert them to Align. You can get more details, including the manual ,off the "charger" section on our website (www.cheapbatterypacks.com). Also, the charger comes with an optional AC power adapter for $19.99. At $79.99 for the charger itself + 19.99 for the AC Adapter equals the lowest cost and complete AC/DC nimh/nicad/lipo/balancer we have seen to date. A123 Racing factory Packs

Lipo Voltage tester
This little device, found under the charger/misc section, will allow you to see the voltage of each of your lipo cells in your lipo pack. It requires an Align style tap ( Polyquest that is 4s-6s will work because pins happen to line up). If you have Thunder Power or PQ taps, again we do have adapters and can offer special pricing when purchasing the voltage device. The device is a 3 digit LED that states: cell 1 then Voltage, Cell 2 then voltage and so on. Last read out is Total Pack Voltage. This is a great device for your tool box. Easier to use then a volt meter and you don't need to fuss with trying to use probes on the taps. At a cost of $9.99, it is worth every penny. Does 1-6 cells.

The Elite 30C lipos keep breaking records. Brian Buaas just won another boating event with the Elite 30C lipo products. The Elite 30C seem to be setting the new standards in performance. Look for them in the lipo section.
The Elite 5000mah SC cells will be here shortly (in about 10 days). Keep a look out and be ready to order when they show up. No pre-orders but we expect them to sell out quickly.
4/5SC Elite 2200 have been available for a while and are great cells.
Elite 1500 2/3A are plentiful these days.Adapters -- We now stock a complete line of PQ->AL, AL->PQ, AL->TP, TP->AL, TP->PQ and PQ->TP tap adapters.

We have just moved to a new location. Many of you may already know but we just moved from our old location in Hillsboro, Oregon to our new location in Scappoose, Oregon. Why did we move? Simply put we were out growing our commercial space. Our new space offers 10 acres of mixed forrest and flat space and over 8000sqft of shop. We are hoping to offer Airsoft and Rock Crawling events and more soon. We will keep you posted for those that are close that may want to venture out or have a club that would like to use our space. We want to appologize for those that may have noticed a slow down in getting your orders out. we had to take weds - monday (17th-22nd) to move and some orders had to be put on hold as we made the move. We tried our best to get items out as quicky as we could. As of today we are 90% back up and running and should have all orders back on track. Thanks again to all and hope to see you at our new location if you can find it :) You can find our new address under the contact area of the website. We can still accept local pick-ups but I must warn you that our 1/2 mile gravel driveway is not for the faint of heart. It is best to have a SUV/Truck or something with good clearance. As of Sunday December 21st we have over 18 inches of snow and ice on top of it. We are still working this coming week for those of my employees that can make it. However we don't think packages will make it out on Monday or Tuesday possible due to weather and the local post office. We are a rural route and we are up quite high. All orders as of Friday the 19th before 12pm have made it out so only the weekend orders are affected. We will be closed Xmas Eve, Xmas day and the following friday - I personally will be handling orders on friday and will do my best to get orders out. But with the weather expected to last through next week we may still be delayed. Be assured this is not a normal thing and we don't usually have this type of weather. This is a once in 50 year type event and are doing our best to cope. If you have any questions you can email us as normal - But asking to ship it some other method wont make any difference as UPS trucks CAN NOT make it up the driveway and we have no way to get into town to drop them off.
